Terms of Use
Updated
Effective October 3, 2026. These terms cover your use of dixiechatter.com (“the site”), operated by DixieChatter (“we”). By using the site, you agree to them.
1. Not an emergency service
DixieChatter shares public-safety alerts from official sources to help people stay informed. We are not an emergency service, and alerts can be delayed, incomplete or out of date. For emergencies, call 911. Always follow instructions from official agencies such as the National Weather Service, UDOT and local authorities.
2. Information only
Content is for general information. Scores, schedules and event details can change. Check with the school, organizer or business before you rely on them.
3. Our content
DixieChatter’s original text, graphics and design belong to DixieChatter or its licensors. You may share links and short quotes with credit. Don’t copy whole posts or graphics or use them commercially without written permission.
4. Embedded and linked content
Embedded X and Facebook posts belong to their owners and are shown under those platforms’ terms. Links to other sites are for convenience; we don’t control and aren’t responsible for them. Links are not endorsements.
5. Comments
Comments are turned off. If we turn them on later, we’ll update these terms first.
6. Tips and messages you send
When you send a tip, correction or other message, you confirm it’s accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share it. You let us use the information (not your photos or videos, which we don’t publish) to report on the topic, and we may quote short parts of your message with or without your name as you prefer. We don’t promise confidentiality. Don’t send photos or videos of emergencies, crashes, fires or people in distress.
7. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the site: no hacking, scraping or automated collection, overloading, or attempts to get around security.
8. Ads
If the site carries advertising, it will be labeled. Advertisers are responsible for their own claims, offers and products. See our Advertising Policy.
9. Disclaimers
The site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, DixieChatter isn’t liable for indirect or consequential damages from your use of the site.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah.
12. Changes
We may update these terms and will change the effective date when we do.
